Competitive Advantages
Colostomy products have changed little in the last 40 years. They consist of colostomy bags, dressings and gravity feed irrigation systems. The bags can fill several times per day and users fear embarrasing leakages. The CoVac device is the only device to assist in the evacuation of the bowel to allow users to simplify, regularise and normalise bowel emptying. Used 3-4 times per week it is expected the user will attain periods of continence and reduce reliance on colostomy bags.

The company has a range of patents pertaining to the active evacuation of a stoma, automated systems for irrigation and evacuation and flow algorythms to control the irrigation and evacuation of the bowel.
