PaleoTechnology Australia
Overview
PaleoTechnology Australia is a technology development and commercialization company creating bio-based products and processes that increase the value derived from natural resource environments. This is done through innovative Bio/Chemical Discovery and Bioprocess Development in diverse environments including petroleum extraction sites, extreme environments, and in zones of significant biodiversity.
PaleoTechnology is focussed on four core technology areas:
• Chemical and Medicinal components derived from heavy oil, and petroleum-associated water.
• Microbial Biotechnology - novel products and processes developed from extremophile microorganisms.
• Gaseous Solvent Extraction Technology (GSET) - a novel methodology for isolating oils and fats from petroleum and biomass.
• Sustainable Materials - Biomaterials design and applications development from renewable resources.
Potential areas of application include alternative energy pathways, degradation or sequestration of harmful substances, development of novel medicinal and nutriceutical substances, and the replacement of 20th Century industrial materials and processes with environmentally friendly "green" products, chemical reagents and reactions.
PaleoTechnology, in partnership with the Box Hill Institute in Melbourne, Australia will collaborate on development and commercialization in these application areas to develop novel products and bioprocesses. The company is a subsidiary of PetroHunter Energy Corporation, and is interested in establishing partnerships in its core technology areas.
