| Edstar Genetics Pty Ltd was formed in December 1998 and draws upon over 40 years of international experience by its principal, Dr Ian Edwards in providing professional consulting services in crop breeding and biotechnology. Dr Edwards spent 22 years (1977-98) with Pioneer Hi-Bred International (a Dupont company) where he was Worldwide Director of Field Crops. He co-founded Grain Biotech Australia P/L, a Perth-based wheat breeding and biotechnology company in 1998 and served as CEO until his retirement in 2004. He currently serves as Chairman of the AgBio Advisory Group in AusBiotech, Australia’s biotechnology organisation. For the past three years Edstar Genetics Pty Ltd has provided services to a major ag-industry client in cereal breeding and product development; it has provided several major biotechnology program reviews in Australia and New Zealand; it has reviewed cereal quality programs in South Africa; and it is currently engaged with start-up WA biotechnology companies in providing management and governance advice. |
