Microbiogen Pty Ltd

Overview

A global challenge is to supply sustainable fuel and food to the world. MicroBioGen has developed unique technology to convert agriculture and forestry waste into both fuel and food. Implementation of MBG’s technology will revolutionize production of renewable ethanol fuel whilst maintaining or even enhancing land usage for food output.

Competitive Advantages

MBG’s competitive advantage lies in the unique features of our non-GM yeasts that convert plant biomass into ethanol and protein. We are the only company to have tackled this problem using natural breeding and selection. The yeast strains are in hand and the MBG process is ready to go. Our yeasts:

  • do not have to be contained and can be used in the human food chain.
  • are based on those used in the baking and brewing industries.
  • Give 90% efficient production of ethanol and yeast protein products.
  • Clean up process waste streams – reducing the need for effluent treatment.

Technology/IP

MBG owns over 4,000 non-genetically engineered, patent-protected yeast strains that provide for a monopoly position in global food and fermentation markets. Advanced yeast genetics know-how plus a unique bio-marker system enforce our robust intellectual property ownership, and provide a strong barrier to entry.

Partnering Needs

Microbiogen is positioned to capitalize on its technology and products now. We offer licensing and partnering opportunities for companies and investors in first and second generation ethanol and yeast manufacturing.
