Aus Bio Ltd
Overview
Established in March 2000, Aus Bio an unlisted public company, is developing human and veterinary related biomedical and pharmaceutical products.
Aus Bio’s scientific team identifies naturally occurring bioactive compounds, initially to use as scientific leads. As a result of scientific success a number of projects are at various stages of both research and product development.
The most advanced of which is:
- Project MD 920 Wound Healing (Chronic Venous Ulcers). The Company has successfully completed a Phase I Clinical Trial Study. Planning for a Phase IIb/III Study has been completed and Institutional Ethics approval to commence the study has been granted. Between 10 and 20 Australian Recuitment Sites involved in the study which may take up to two years to complete.
- MD 922
- Project MD 960 The Development of Novel Treatments for the Managements of Diabetes Mellitus and Insulin Resistance. Orally bioavailable therapeutic synthesized. Mode of action as an insulin sensitizer. Patent protection extended. Additional PoC studies confirm efficacy and this project is anticipated to enter a Clinic within 12 months.
- Project PC 2000 ‘Development of Immune Modulators for Chronic Hepatitis B & C Infections’. Lead compounds identified. PoC studies have shown the lead compound to activity in a HCV replicon model also in a breast cancer cell line. Specific cytokine assays developed.
- Project MD 990 The Development of Novel Pharmaceuticals for Specific Acute and Chronic Respiratory Conditions. Lead compounds identified. PoC studies underway. Compound safe and non toxic.
