AusBiotech to unite flagship conferences under Australia’s Biggest Week in Biotech
27 May 2026
Following record attendance at AusMedtech 2026, with 550 delegates gathered in Perth, AusBiotech has announced it will align its three flagship conferences together under one major, signature annual event: Australia’s Biggest Week in Biotech.
From October 2026, AusMedtech, the AusBiotech International Conference, and AusBiotech Invest will form part of a connected conference experience delivered across one week. Importantly, each conference will retain its own identity, audience, and purpose.
This year’s Biggest Week in Biotech will be held on the Gold Coast.
AusMedtech will remain the dedicated conference for Australia’s medtech sector, while AusBiotech Invest will continue as a standalone investment-focused event with its own venue, ticketing, and program.
The AusBiotech International Conference and AusMedtech Conference will be delivered as a shared program experience, allowing delegates to move across sessions and engage more broadly across Australia’s life sciences ecosystem with a single ticket.
The decision reflects extensive feedback from members, investors, partners, and international stakeholders. The change creates one large, scalable week of conferences, exhibition, partnered events, networking, business partnering and investment engagements designed to cater for the entire life sciences ecosystem. By enabling scale, AusBiotech will work with partners to attract wider Australian and international engagement to grow the ecosystem and succeed on a world stage.
The first partnered, satellite events for the Biggest Week in Biotech have already been confirmed with the announcement of a new strategic partnership between Tenmile and AusBiotech. As part of this agreement Tenmile will bring its Focal Point and HealthTech Muster events into Australia’s Biggest Week in Biotech.
Comments from AusBiotech CEO, Rebekah Cassidy:
“The traditional approach of separating biotech, medtech and digital discussions no longer reflects how innovation is actually happening. Many organisations across our sector are already operating across these boundaries every day.
“As Australia’s life sciences peak body, we believe it is important that our events and conferences evolve to support that future. Australia’s Biggest Week in Biotech will help to create the scale and momentum our sector needs to succeed on a world stage.
“This is about creating Australia’s largest and most connected life sciences platform for the future. We are very excited to take that journey with our members, our partners and the broader sector – for the benefit of life sciences in Australia.”
Comments from Queensland State Committee Chair Michael Junger, Director Industry and Government Relations, VAXXAS, regarding Australia’s Biggest Week in Biotech to be held on the Gold Coast 2026
"Queensland biotech is alive with ideas, startups and new infrastructure, we look forward to having everyone there. This is the moment for any business in the sector, of any size, to get behind Australia’s life science’s ecosystem."
