Member Online Forum | Help Shape the Future of CGT for Our Sector
Join this exclusive member online forum to discuss opportunities and priorities for Australia’s CGT sector.
As part of the Australian Government's Capital Gains Tax reform agenda, Treasury has released a consultation paper, Capital gains tax reforms – arrangements for innovative start-ups. This consultation provides a critical opportunity for the life sciences sector to shape the design of the proposed “Innovative Business CGT Concession”.
We are contacting members to outline the consultation process and the ways you can contribute to a collective sector response – through two online AusBiotech forums this week, a new survey and by amplifying the message.
While there have been positive steps forward, important questions remain about the design of the concession.
We are seeking your views on the questions raised by Treasury such as:
- Defining the principles by which innovative businesses can qualify for the concession;
- Additional considerations for life sciences companies, including company age extensions and listed company inclusions; and
- Whether the proposed thresholds and limits are fit for purpose for the sector.
As our collective advocacy efforts continue, input is critical to ensuring Government is working from a strong evidence base and gets these reforms right for the sector.
Join us for one of two virtual forums to be part of the conversation.
Hear key insights, share your perspective and help shape AusBiotech’s submission.
Each 1-hour interactive virtual forum will include:
- An overview of the proposed Innovative Business CGT Concession;
- An interactive discussion to gather member feedback on Treasury's consultation questions; and
- An opportunity to ask questions and contribute to AusBiotech's submission.
